MyMail: Bucks Student Email Information

At the University, we have a new external student email system, MyMail, based on WindowsLive (Hotmail). MyMail delivers mail in an easy to use familiar format.

Please read the instructions below carefully.

New Students have two email choices:

CHOICE 1

Activate your MyMail account in a two stage process.

Go to  Mymail:
We have already signed you up so you just need to SIGN IN. (DO NOT SIGN UP)

Your MyMail (Windows Live ID) will be two initials and your student ID @mymail.bucks.ac.uk.

For example, student Fred Smith, ID 20123456, the MyMail address will be fs20123456@mymail.bucks.ac.uk

Your password for the first sign in is your password you use to log in to the computer on campus
OR
your date of birth dd-MMM-yy if you have not yet logged into a computer and changed your password.

Fill in your personal details in the MyMail profile. You don’t have to do this all at once as you can return and edit it later.

Forward

Now you have to set up forwarding for MyMail.

Go to http://www.bucks.ac.uk/forward

Fill in the form and in the email address boxes, write your MyMail address.

CHOICE 2

If you decide not to set up a MyMail account. Instead forward any mail sent by Bucks New University to your personal email that you are already using. Go to http://www.bucks.ac.uk/forward

Fill in the form and insert your personal email address.

RETURNING STUDENTS HAVE 3 EMAIL CHOICES:
(Access to BCUCMail messages withdrawn 31 August 2009)

1.   Do nothing and carry on from last year

Using forwarding set in your Bucks email account to another email address,

OR
Continuing to forward directly without a Bucks account.

2. Existing students, who arranged previously to have their Bucks messages forwarded to personal email, who now want to move to MyMail, can sign in to their MyMail at Mymail

Look at the example for New Students how to sign in above.

These students should then return to the BCUCmail web page and use the link “If you already have a BCUCmail account: Forward to another address” Forward and set up forwarding to the new MyMail account."

3.  Existing students, who have not previously made any arrangements at all for email messages from Bucks New University, have the same choices as new students.

We must be able to contact you by email
